Fans of ABC's The Chew who want to make the best recipes from the show should check out the official cookbook, The Chew: Food. Life. Fun. (Hyperion Books, $20), which has more than 100 recipes from the show.

The collection of recipes span the seasons to keep home cooks entertained all year long, including Mario Batali's Chestnut Merguez Stuffing, perfect for anyone looking to give their Thanksgiving dinner a twist; an Eggs in Heaven recipe by Carla Hall, beloved and bubbly former contestant from Top Chef, to get you through chilly winter mornings; Michael Symon's Ricotta, Mint, and Spring Pea Bruschetta to celebrate the first signs of spring; and Daphne Oz's Grilled Eggplant with Greek Yogurt, a fantastic summer side dish.

Wait a minute. Aren't all of these recipes online? It's 2013. Well, yes. But, if the power is out, if there's no computer handy, if there's a computer but no printer handy (and no tablet or smartphone nearby, either), or if, like us, you still like having things like cookbooks in print, if only to spatter the pages with sauce (yes, we realize the irony of making this statement online is evident), then this book is worth spending a few bucks.

Cheese-Stuffed Mortadella with Bruschetta

This recipe may seem absolutely pazzo, but Mario may be on to something with this unusual antipasto. Give it a whirl if you've never had Robiola before. Or mortadella (gasp). (Photo courtesy of Andrew Scrivani)

Pan-Seared Turkey with Gremolata

The recipe from Carla Hall is out to prove turkey isn't just for Thanksgiving. The product of a happy accident (well, perhaps not so happy from Hall's perspective, at the time), this is also great for putting Thanksgiving dinner on the table in a pinch. (Photo courtesy of Andrew Scrivani)

Red Velvet Cake

This dessert recipe was voted number one by viewers of the show. (Photo courtesy of Andrew Scrivani)
